Maryland HVAC Bids & Public Mechanical Projects
Maryland routes most public solicitations through one system, eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA), used by state agencies, counties, school systems and universities. School HVAC renovations often add a step: contractors may have to prequalify before they can bid.
This page explains where Maryland HVAC and mechanical work is advertised, what to register before bidding, and what ExpansionSignal has published for Maryland so far.

How Maryland public HVAC bidding works
Register in eMMA first. eMMA is the bid board for electronic solicitation notices and, depending on the procurement, online bidding. The state's vendor page also points contractors to SDAT business registration, which it says every business contracting with Maryland must complete.
Watch for prequalification and participation goals. For example, the Kennard Elementary School HVAC systemic renovation in Queen Anne's County required a prequalification questionnaire by November 19, 2026, ahead of a November 24 bid date. ExpansionSignal labels bids like this as restricted so you can see the extra step before investing estimating time.
What ExpansionSignal covers in Maryland
Maryland records are checked by hand against eMMA and the issuing agency's own documents. Every record keeps its source link and last-checked date, and a bid is only labeled open after the official solicitation and deadline are confirmed.

Frequently asked questions
- Where are Maryland public HVAC bids posted?
- On eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA). Maryland's procurement site describes eMMA as the system where solicitations for state, local, county, school and university buyers post their public notices. Many school systems and counties also post specifications on their own websites.
- What do I need before bidding Maryland public work?
- Register as a vendor in eMMA, and register your business with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT). Some projects also require prequalification by a deadline before bids are due, or have Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Small Business Reserve requirements. Always read the solicitation.
- Does ExpansionSignal read eMMA automatically?
- No. eMMA uses a browser check that blocks automated reading, so Maryland records are found and checked by hand from eMMA and agency websites. Each record shows the date it was last checked.
- How much Maryland coverage is there today?
- Maryland is the newest state and coverage is small. The county list above shows exactly how many Maryland records are published right now; it is not statewide coverage.
